Charming Chamonix
We now needed to head west and make our way to France. With some time up our sleeve we decided to stop in Chamonix, a famous mountain town I had always wanted to visit. Stories of climbing Mount Blanc, and the mountaineers that the town had created had kept me enthralled for many years. We arrived and found the town reasonably busy, much more so than Cortina. Our time started with a great night at a local pub watching the Champions league final (with many Paris St Germain supporters). We spent the next day at the local "Adventure" park enjoying their many rides and a long mountain luge with spectacular views. The adults also managed to pop out on their own to a wine and cheese bar a few meters from our accommodation, producing a rare moment of calm.
