Airy Annacy

We continued heading west, now well into France. Annacy, the picturesque town by a lake surrounded by mountains and a particularly famous (Disney) castle ws the next stop. After managing to find a carpark which was sometimes a serious challenge in these large towns, we headed off with our suitcases into the old town. Cobblestones make touch work for rolling cases and eventually we made it to our apartment. Unfortunately it was a further 5 flights of stairs, the last one being very skinny before we collapsed in the apartment. Luckily it was spacious and right in the centre of town.

As the sun was shining we headed straight down to the lake, and hired a paddle boat with attached waterslide. Much fun was had in the clear, clean waters of the lake before heading back into town for dinner. Day 2 was spent exploring the town and markets and eating crepes etc.

For the last day kel had organised paragliding for us all, except Addy who was unfortunately too little. Jumping off the side of a mountain overlooking the huge lake and surrounding mountains was an unforgettable experience for all. Em and Bas particularly loved it.

That evening we popped downstairs to the winebar at the bottom of our apartment, topping off a perfect few days in Annacy

We would certainly miss the lake and old town, but not the stairs.
